There are six common types of plastic scrap. The following types of plastic are quite common and are used in the manufacture of the products listed next to them.
PS (Polystyrene) - Examples: foam cups, plastic cutlery, plastic containers.
PP (Polypropylene) - Examples: lunch boxes, rope, carpet.
LDPE (Low-density polyethylene) - Example: garbage cans and garbage bags.
PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) - Examples: juice boxes, door and window profiles, electrical cables.
HDPE (High-density polyethylene) - Examples: shampoo bottles, jerry cans, pressure pipes, white goods.
PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) - Examples: water bottles, food containers, synthetic fiber.
Currently, only products made using PET, HDPE and PVC, which are frequently used in everyday life, are recycled. Plastic products made using PS, PP and LDPE are not recycled because they have to go through a more difficult and expensive processing process. Plastic caps, for example, are generally not recyclable. One of the most important questions in plastic recycling is "Is it recyclable or not?". It is not economically feasible to recycle some types of plastic. Plastic scrap prices are also shaped accordingly...
